Currently practising sweeps (sometimes with tapping), my 2nd, 3rd and 4th fretting fingers and smoothening up my right hand tapping into something more like Michael Romeo. Also scales, arpeggios and a few classical pieces for 4th grade (of 7) classical guitar exam-thing at the end of this month. Edit: I never learn any songs anymore. Last one I memorized was Speed Metal Symphony.. when I have time I'll work on getting it up to speed. Otherwise I like listening to Dream Theater and following either Petrucci or Rudess around.. sometimes even LaBrie

Circular picking is fucking badass shit.. allows you to make some craaazy pinch harmonics all over the place But my sweeping sucks though.. I can do it easy on 3-4 strings and in the middle of some improvision but if I'm to sweep a handfull ofl 6-string arpeggios in a row I couldn't go much over 100 in 16th parts :/ But that is about to change I got a job this summer doing practicly nothing for 8 hours and I'm gonna use that time to practise the fuck out of those sweepers! Than when I get of work I can go home and practise some more (6) MUHAHAHR! Send me a clip of that project you're working on.. I'm getting curios (however you people spell that word) ;D

Hey that reminds me.. I've worked quite a bit on Eklund's arpeggios, I can sweep them OK fast but only cuz I have practised them a bit. Fucking extreme shit, stretching a perfect fifth (8 frets) n' shit that gets rather long on the lower frets. "6-string Ionian arpeggio 6-string Dorian arpeggio 6-string Phrygian arpeggio 6-string Lydian arpeggio 6-string Mixolydian arpeggio 6-string Aeolian arpeggio 6-string Locrian arpeggio" On this page: home.swipnet.se/freakguitar/licks.html

I've been using Troy Stetina's new book quite a lot lately: Fretboard Mastery. All the theory and ear training you'll ever need, and not just for shredding. Phenomenal, just like everything else the man writes!
I've also been working on my alternate picking technique, because my pick hand sucks -- lots of woodshedding at this point. About four hours a day, and more if I have a day off from work. Thanks to Troy's Speed Mechanics and Joel's Alternate Picking Masterclass, along with my own custom picking workout, the right hand's getting better in a hurry.
Other than that, I just learn everything I can get my hands on, and compose as often as possible.

Yeah, but I'm gonna have to save up for a while before I can record anything. Lack of funds is a drag.
