...or it won't happen because Quebec is a Canadian piece of land, and therefore even if everyone Quebec in votes to leave, the Gov't can just say "um....no..." ....and then they'll start shipping 'em off to France ;D

I don't have much experience with Canadians in Canada, never spent much time there. But I like the Canadians that come to TN! Odd how they stray so far from Religion there but, have better morals than most here in the bible belt... Hummm....

I think it's because, here, its culturally normal. Its just how you act towards others, without pre-thought, because its how you've been treated.
The bit about religion though: People break laws all the time. There's a saying that "It's only illegal if you get caught". Everybody does this to a greater or lesser degree. Speeding, for example. By putting morals into a system, and set of laws(organized religion), people begin to apply similar attitudes to religious values. This is why I think religion should be a personal thing, not an organization. One study I saw actually suggests that, because non-thiests don't believe in a higher being that will help, they help others more.
I should stop though, as I'm pretty sure I remember religion/politics being off limits for discussion here.

Free translator says: I, Marie, hereby declare Emp as my idol xooxXoOxxX No, I think she means that the Canadians don't take faith as seariously as some of the extremists in America. The Canadians have better morals and manners than these Bilicans.

In their defense, not all Christians are bad -- not all are stuck-up assholes.
Some are very quick to judge, waiting for the opportunity to smite a sinner.
And others are very nice folks who happen to believe in God. As long as they don't try to enforce it on me, there's nothing wrong with that.

I pride myself on being one such person. i've actually apologized to people for how other Christians have treated them on separate occasions. i hate how one person is caused to suffer just because one person is a jerk and ruins it for everyone else.

Yeah, certain people behave a little obscenely sometimes, and not in a good way. I live in a small redneck bible thumping town, and I can't even count the number of times my friends and I have nearly gotten into fist fights just because we wear black clothes or have a facial piercing or six. It's ridiculous. But some of my best friends are really religious. It's cool with me, it's just not for everybody. I wish more people understood that the way you do.
