IDK man.... I had a dude in this week w/ a 5150 and a tubescreamer..... hell it was a beautiful lead sound. Very nice.
Never played the JSX, but I've recently become a fan of peavey stuff. I'm selling my triaxis and 20:20 and buying a 5150 and a xxl (need a durable amp for the road that is affordable). My tube shit can't handle the abuse of road these days. I've had to fix my triaxis like 3 times. Really pisses me off.

More people need to be turned from Mesa to Peavey Heavy stuff there.

Well if like 70% of people with mesa double rectos use tubescreamer, then they aren't ruining the tone right? I mean they know what they are doing. Some amps need boost. TS is classic
I was thinking if you install an onboard gainbooster, like EMG PA-2 or that Laiho sig booster, would that work like the TS? I am kinda scared of getting one since ill have to drill a hole in the guitar for that and will most likely fuck it royally up.

We all know tubes are far superior than any solidstate creation to date. May as well keep everything tube because its simply superior. Anyone can plug a processor into a dual 1/3 octave EQ then into a Squire 15 and sound decent. See where this is going?

Speaking of tubescreamers.... A tubescreamer is one of the best things I've ever bought. IDK how the hell I lived with out it?!?!

But the idea of being able to change the eq and to add more overdrive to the sound by simply touching a switch on your guitar sounds appealing Btw what do you guys say on the matter of TS 7 vs TS 9 vs TS 808 ?

There is a big difference in being blasphemous and none blasphemous there. oh and as for tubescreamers. I am getting one soon, but I use a sonic maximizer already. It does a lot for your tone. Tubescreamers add overdrive and fill in the gaps. My sonic maximizer adjusts how quickly frequencies jump out of the speakers so there are no gaps. Either way works.

You don't necessisarily need to use the TS9 to get more gain, you can also use it to just smooth out your tone.
For adding gain, a Boss DS1 is a pretty nice line driver and it is cheap as nails.

Yeah I'm thinking of modding it.. just buy some chip and replace the old/cheaper one. Now it's good to have electric-engineering in the family
