Just saw Goatwhore and Amon Amarth on Sounds of the Underground on friday. Didn't watch the other bands, but these two delivered insane amounts of badassery live. AA's drummer stopped us to talk for a bit as we were leaving.
Last night I saw Blinded by Faith and Damascus... another killer show. I recommend everybody check out these bands. (Emp maybe knows BBF already?) Bad turnout, but thats unfortunately normal for 'smaller' bands here.
Anybody else been to any good shows lately?

I wanted to got to SOTU, but I was gone on a trip I even liked a few of the deathcore bands on Warped Tour, but I was also gone then. I guess I'm gonna go without a single concert this summer. I'll admit, I haven't been to a ton of concerts but this is what I have seen that was fairly good. See You Next Tuesday, August Burns Red, War of Ages, All Shall Perish, Terror, The Warriors, Life in Your Way, Chasing Victory, Underoath (better than I though they would be), From a second Story Window, and though I don't really care for the hard rock stuff, Staind, and Shinedown put on a good show together.

I almost went to the Dirty South tour too. Had maylene, Norma Jean, The Chariot, and Underoath. If they had Spitfire then it would be all the original members in their own new or old bands.

the chariot wasn't with them at the one i went to...if they had been then i would have found it a much better experience since they put on such a good live show. i was gonna go see war of ages next week in Akron, but lack of funds is limiting me. can't wait to get moved to Kentucky, though...the tour promoter that sponsored that same tour sent an email out with all upcoming shows in Kentucky, and there are a ton of powerdos bands going to be in kentucky over the next year - the one that sticks out to me is Nightwish. all of the bands that come to Columbus are false. all of the good ones have shows in towns that are at least a 2 hour drive away from me so I'm having my killer show experience vicariously through a friend of mine from Indiana who just went to see Symphony X last week.

i just went to a good show the other night in louisville - i can only remember two of the bands' names: A Plea for Purging and War of Ages. The reason they are the only ones that i remember their names is because they're the only ones that were good :S it was one of those "room shows" where you're eye level with the band because they're playing on the same floor you're standing on (except for the drummers, they had a foot-up they were on)- kind of like the old sk00l punk rock "in my mom's basement" shows. and i can say that there was dosness present when these two bands performed, especially WoA since they have an endorsment w/ ESP and they were running Krank and Madison amps through VHT cabs (i talked to their lead guitarist for a good while before their set - their next album they're going VHT all the way )

The only show I'm going to mention in this is Anaal Nathrakh this spring... was the most intense one I've ever seen by a long way. \m/
