Am I actually the only one who think it's better for 'em?? hahaha
I mean... when I think darkshift, i think about the first album, not the new "rock" stuff.
Silvergun is better for a rock band.

Well I think that it is ok because they pretty much changed the band's style.

Yeah, I like Silvergun better too, even though neither of those names seem to mean much (maybe I'm just missing the depth and symbolism here).

lol... holy crap... word spreads fast.
Yea, since we are not a "radio rock" band we figured it would be more appropriate to have a "rock" name. Besides, we changed the sound so much that it just wouldn't be right to call it "Dark Shift." Don't worry, we are heavier than DS was and the solos will still rip (well some of them, depends on the song).
As for the name, it has no real meaning. Of all the potential names, we thought it sounded the best and had a catchiest ring to it. It also is more of a rock name than Dark Shift. Freddy was givin' me hell cuz "guns ain't made of silver." I thought, dude, it isn't supposed to mean anything. WTF is "Stone Temple Pilots" supposed to mean? I think of a pilot flying into Olmeck's Temple (Show from when I was a kid on Niceklodeon). lol So anyways, no real symbolism or meaning. It is just a name. Hopefully the music will make it mean something.

to Kev: don't be mad. The music will grow on you. lol At least I hope so. We've got some pretty heavy riffs on the new record. I know that no one likes it when things they like change. I am trying to embrace it as it inevitably had to happen.

well, to me Slivergun sounds like it'd be the name of a Southern Metal band or something, especially with the motif that it's written in for the new logo. But it's still more fitting a name for an Alter Bridge on steroids band than Dark Shift would be.

Some of the new stuff has a major southern feel to it.... which is funny, cuz we have no southern influence.
