Why doesn't Hetfield just track all the rhythm guitars himself?

lol man I am by any means no big fan of metallica. But as is stated in the vid description every player makes mistakes.
Although the riffs would be even more tight if the same player did all rythm tracks. Some bands suffer from that type of ego "I want to play this on the record".

it's not just about the tracking, it's about how to play the song live ;p
but anyway, with those big bands, its always one guy who ends up tracking the rythm part (mustaine, hetfield, schaffer etc)

EPIC FAIL. It's just a St. Anger riff as well...

The song itself is pretty damn good. It's just the rest of the album that sucks.

yeah St. Anger itself isnt' that bad. When me and one of my friends in high school heard it, we were like "yes, lars finally getting kinda crazy on the drums" only thing was that the drums were the same the whole way through

In the studio I usually make 1 person track all the parts, unless each guitarist does drastically different things. You will always be more consistent with yourself than with another. funny vid. We all have our band days

I gotta be honest. The new stuff is fuckin rockin. Not sayin Ive lost the disdain for the band for thier grubbing past.... but now that Ive heard the whole disc. Im likin it. Even though it doesnt have near enough dist on the backing tracks... Kirk is back to doin what he does best.

Hetfield used to track all the rhythms, even the ones Kirk wrote, but on St Anger they decided it was mean to exclude people just because it sounded better. New stuff is okay. Better than St. Anger. Compares to Post-Black-Album 'tallica, with some older influence.

I honnestly don't think they care AT ALL about how it actually sounds, more like how it SELLS.

Dude, they could put out a record of white noise and thousands of people would buy it and defend it to the death just cause Metallica did it.
