i had been working out quite regularly but i caught some of the business end of this bad economy crap, and long story short the card I had the billing for my gym got canceled on me and now I probably have a bounty on my head there because of the money I owe them.
i just need to get a weight bench and DIY it, but i need to start running again more than i do lifting...I've already got decent muscle mass but I need to drop some fat and get my stamina up for when the band starts getting busy so I'm not going on stage half dead.

I have been semi going to the gym for 3-4 or 5 years I don't remeber 100%, but this summer I am on a streak! Been going to gym 4-5 times a week. I did some research on how to get the most out of exercises (diet, program) and now that I can see the results I am not intending on stopping

I am kinda planning on going 3-4 mornings (which I already do.. can't go 5 days because sometimes I work early - gym's not opened yet) AND 4-5 evening.... that would be overkill. All my friends except one think i'm crazy.

Yeah, just watch out dude. Muscles need time to regenerate, and you will be overstressing your cardio muscle... I know a lady that used to workout 5-6 times a week for 2-3 hours and besides cardio problems she got some hypothalamic disorder, and doctors are not sure if her hormone levels will be adequate enough for her to have children. Sadly she's only 27.

Yeah I know.... but I'm not doing "everything" everyday (every muscles that is) let's say on monday I'm doing triceps and pectorals, the next day biceps and back.. then shoulders... I do legs pretty much everyday (different group of muscles, of course) so they have 48 to 72hours to regenerate.
I am not quite planning to become the next Arnold, it's just another way of feeling better and having good time. Also, it's helping me to focus on something constructive and to let off stream, release my energy... which didnt happen on guitar anymore for some reason.

I'd like to see some photos posted... gotta see if you are really getting the results hehe... Oh and you can't wear anything but your guitar! Who knows maybe we can talk Joel into an IG promotional calendar.
I don't go to a gym, but I do stretches and try to walk a lil' everyday. For me that's a lot! Sometimes motivation is a bit of a problem... but I keep reminding myself that giving up isn't an option. What do you guys do to keep you motivated?

well i have been motivated by seeing my muscle grow. Motivation comes and goes and there is little I can do about it though. Same as with composing - some days I am simply hit by a huge emotional train when I hear my favourite band, and on those days I feel inspired. On other days I don't have the imagination to lift my ass off my chair. But usually doing something new (like e.g. new exercises/plan at gym) brings extra motivation.
IMO Women do not really have to go to gym, just keeping yourself in motion and in check should do the trick. Some girls I know do jogging, do exercises at home with light dumbbels, and few actually go to gym.
And yes, giving up is not an option, second place is just for the first loser!

For me it's always about lifting more and more.... let's say you lift 100 pounds, after you wanna do 105-110 etc...

I read a really interesting book by former Mr. Olympia, Mike Mentzer (also trained Dorian Yates). He was talking about doing only 2 sets a week. Working out for only 240 seconds a week and getting the same results as pounding it for 6 days a week 2 hrs a day. VERY INTERESTING. I'm going to try his philosophy. Its worth checking out. www.mikementzer.com/

Just wanted to know what people did and who enjoy bodybuilding.
I know somebody, who's crazy if you ask my opinion, he started fat-burner stuff (to get like 1% body fat) then proteins, creatine, testosterone... now he thinks about the needle. it's kind of extreme I think

I know one guy that does this shit too .It is one step over the top imo. If you are a huge hulk made of steroided meat it doesn't really look that good... Not to speak of overall damage to your health.
