Arcturus - Shipwrecked in Oslo. Hell, songs are beyond awesome. ICS vortex is one of metal's greatest singer, hellhammer's without a doubt norways greatest drummer. nice guitar work too. Bass, we don't give a shit as it doesnt really standout. moreover, there's awesome space videos, dancers and avant-garde images. \m/

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same Jimmy Page is the reason i originally started to play. I'm glad my mom raised me on the old school stuff (Zep, Skynyrd, Eagles)
Stryper - Burning Flame (Live in Japan 1989) Oz Fox and Michael Sweet are one of the most awesome duos of all time. Somebody uploaded it onto YouTube song by song.
This Is Spinal Tap not really a music dvd, but it has one of my favorite movie lines of all time... "but these go to 11".

The Song Remains the Same is probably the most important video release in rock music ever. What an awsome show.
Another badass video is The Who - Kids Are Alright, it's the best damn rock instructional video ever.
Since we talk about old-school stuff
then Miles Davis live at Isle Of Wight is amazing
or all the old Wootstock, Fillmore East etc. performances by the great ones.... Hendrix and other cats

is there a dvd or album out from when Vai played with that orchestra in Japan? ever since i first went on his site and he said that this dude in Japan wrote a song called Fire Strings that was a piece for electric guitar that was almost impossible to play (for Vai to say that, it's a lot) and he played it, i've been trying to find a copy of that song.

Im not highly religious, but I do dig Stryper. Excelent band. Oz (Mr. Martinez...aka THE MAN) is wicked. Micheal Sweet allways bitched n whined that he thought his playing sucked, but IMO, not bad at all. His nasal voice is what makes me cringe. I agree with ya though.... best duo of the early 80s. The 90s I didnt like. It got too commercial............ but it still had that bad ass metal feel, even though it got its nuts crimped. Call me a pussy, or whatever.... but Yellow n Black Attack is still my fave.............Soldiers is very fucking close to a tie.

yeah i went through a phase where i got bored with metal for about half a year when i was 19 and then one of my friends let me hear a couple of their songs, so i picked up their 7 Weeks Live in America cd and that was the album that got me back into metal again. So, other than my being a Christian (which is an obvious reason i love the band), i hold that band very dear to me because if it weren't for that cd, i might not have gotten back into metal.
well, okay, i more than likely still would have returned to metal sooner or later, but it might have just taken longer. i guess you could say that was the closest i ever got to being emo...it was when i worked at mcdonalds and everything sucked.
