okay so Guitar Pro and Audacity are giving me crap...when i export drums tracks from guitar pro and attempt to load them into Audacity, the new track window shows a flat wave line and no sound plays.
should i maybe download an audio file converter so i can change the exported wave files as mp3 and then import them to Audacity? (i know for a fact that Audacity imports mp3s because i use it to chop the dead space out of songs that have hidden tracks) anything else you guys can advise me of?
Please don't knock me around and flex at me for using Audacity...it's the only recording software that fits my budget right now, which is free (especially since i just blew 300 on a set of studio monitors) as well as one that i know won't crash my computer (my dell is soon to be flexed at and thrown out a window)

As far as i know, GuitarPro doesn't export mp3. Its midi based. Not too sure if the wav it exports is the standard format. Audacity should play standard WAV files fine.

well, i was talking about exporting wave and using a converter to go from wave to mp3. oh well, anyway, i got fed up with it a little while ago and decided to limewire Reason.

I know. Audacity does read Wav files. There shouldn't be a problem is GuitarPro exports standard WAV formats.
Reason is great, but u gotta find good patches.

okay so reason didn't work...when i went to install it there was a file it couldn't find on my computer that it needed to continue the install so it aborted. i'm working on downloading Magix Deluxe 2006...i'm had a demo version of magix about a year ago, so at least i have an advantage of being used to it.

shareware sux. I have Audacity also. It has issues, but does fine for being free.
The realy bad thing about shareware is the fucking mirror sites. Most dont work. Its alot of hassle for little outcome.
Im gettin Sx3.

it would be easier to import from audacity and then convert it with that. the lame mp3 encoder is on audacity's site. That's what I always do. If you can't get it out from anywhere then just send the song to itunes first and import them into audacity out of there, that is what I do almost every time.

yeah right now i'm taking a break from recording anything to work on my chops and technique. however, i do have a plan. now that I have magix, i'm probably going to using GP for drum track and export them MIDI and then mix everything in magix since I can do just about anything i'd need to do on there (if i can ever figure out how to use the damn thing...)
