I saw Dead Silence last night. The first half was really awesome, but after that it was just corny and false. They left it WAY to open for a sequel...

i sleeved a bunch of ads at work (Target) the other day and a ton of them were for some good movies going on sale for like 10 bucks. One of them is a Ghostbusters 1 & 2 pack. I think i'm going to obtain it since Ghostbusters is oldschool classic.

I hate new movies.... I'm all about the old-school flicks.
That being said I have over 30 new Krystal Styeal movies wich are pretty badass.

just watched 300 on tv-links.co.uk. i have to agree with arisen...definately the most metal movie of all time. it wouldn't surprise me if Symphony X did a concept album based off of it.

I watched "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg when I was in Orlando around April 1st. That was the last movie that I saw that I liked.
Oh wait... I do remember like that chick flick "The Holiday" that they were playing on the airplane to Maui a few weeks ago when I went there for my honeymoon. It was pretty good... for a chick flick.

Okay, I need to vent...
Though of course I am predisposed to automatically like anything Spidey related, Spiderman 3 pissed me off.
For starters, which we should've seen coming from the way Spiderman 2 ended, it's basically a chick flick with neat costumes. Don't get me wrong -- I don't mind chick flicks. The problem here? IT'S SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!!!
Kirsten Dunst is one of the cutest little gals ever, but she has too much screen time. Too much emphasis on the love triangle.
There's also too heavy an attempt to make everybody more "human." It's understandable that a certain amount of humanity in the characters is required to make it believable and relatable. But there's so many FEELINGS in this one, not to mention all the focus on forgiveness. People, it's not an opera -- IT'S SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!
And what's the deal with Peter Parker going all stud-muffin? I mean, nowhere in the comics and cartoons did the Venom suit turn Peter into the freakin' Fonze! I laughed at this portion of the movie, not because it was convincing, but because it was just so ridiculous. This isn't Happy Days. Again, IT'S SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!
Another HUGE problem: not NEARLY enough Venom. It's wrong -- just plain WRONG -- to focus the trailers on Venom and have all this merchandise featuring Venom, when Venom actually gets about 20 minutes of screen time. Another problem with the Venom character: in the comics and cartoons, he was a REAL CHARACTER -- he had depth (for a cartoon anyway) and you felt like Eddie Brock really had some issues. In the movie, he's mostly a joke, pretty much just a novelty item they threw in to please old school fans since it's the last one.
And last but not least, cause this probably pissed me off the most: Carnage. They STARTED to show Carnage, but I guess the special effects guys just couldn't figure out how to make Carnage cool. So they kill him just as we realize what's about to happen.
What a waste. Between Venom, Sandman, the Hobgoblin (Harry) and the story and everything that makes Spiderman great, the material they had to work with should have been enough to make the final installment the BEST Spidey movie. Maybe even the best superhero movie PERIOD. But it's not. Not even close. I didn't hate it; they just could've done so much better...
Who knows, maybe it'll grow on me? Done ranting now.
