I don't have a way of uploading photos onto my computer yet, but I got a new guitar today. It's an Ibanez, of course. RGT42DXFMTLF I'll upload a couple pics when I have a way to do so, but for now you can check it out here, though mine is more purplish than bluish and you can't really see the detail on the website: www.music123.com/Ibanez-RGT42DXFMTLF----Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-i250366.musicAnd now I'm off to restring this bad bitch and set it up right. \m/

i've played one of those at guitar center...badass indeed. good choice. this is my geetar. it's an old picture though...i sold that Vox to a friend of mine who was coming off drums a little bit and starting to learn guitar last year. i'll try to get a newer pic up when i can. i'm planning to put a set of EMGs (thinking either dual 81s or a Zakk Wylde 85/81 set) or a set of Evolutions as well as a Floyd Rose Original \m/

None of that "by Fender" b.s. Fender, die. I'm so excited about my new Ibanez! I had one prior to this one, but I sold it because I seriously injured my right hand a few years back and I never thought I'd play again. I've only been back into it about six months or so, and I've been playing nothing but my Yamaha starter from Fingerhut. For the first time ever, I have a guitar that allows me to do justice to all the work I've put in. I've been playing it all night, it's great! Kinda hard to put down, actually. I love it!

yeah i never see myself parting with this guitar (unless somebody wanted to trade it to me for something like a Charvel San Dimas or one of the older JEMs... ;D). My first guitar was a Squier Affinity Strat (one of the ones that came in a pack with a practice amp). only a year later the youth pastor/worship leader at my dad's church told me that he had a guitar he'd sell me for $150 so i took it. When i went to his house, he pulled the beast (my jackson i have now) from the closet and i about fainted. He'd also sold me my first 100 watt amp...it was a false solid state 2x12 but it was loud and i had a Boss DS-1 that made it sound decent. oh well that's the story of my beginning.
i need to take the jackson to get professionally set up though...i've never had the intonation set or the neck tuned because back in indiana i lived out in the sticks so i had to learn to do my own maintenance, and messing with the saddles seemed too risky for me.

I want a Jackson-away-giving pastor! Now that's METAL! yeah i never see myself parting with this guitar (unless somebody wanted to trade it to me for something like a Charvel San Dimas or one of the older JEMs... ;D). I wouldn't trade that one for anything if I were you, dude. I seriously regret selling my first Ibanez. I mean, hell, the first real guitar you owned! You'd miss it, trust me. i need to take the jackson to get professionally set up though...i've never had the intonation set or the neck tuned because back in indiana i lived out in the sticks so i had to learn to do my own maintenance, and messing with the saddles seemed too risky for me. I'm facing the same issues with my new Ibanez. I did what I could last night, but I really know absolutely NOTHING about guitar tech stuff, and factory-fresh means desperate need of proper set-up. I need to find out if they do all of that where I bought it (and see if they'll let me watch and learn, too).

Yesterday was pure supreme domination! I drove up to Grand Junction and got my new guitar -- henceforth to be known as Gabby. This was a great moment for me, because it's the first guitar I've ever owned that I bought for myself (I've owned 4 total), plus it's the first guitar I've ever owned that will truly allow me to finally do justice to all the work I've put into that area.
When I finally got the chance to play with Gabby -- about 11:00 pm -- it was the greatest practice session I can remember. There were no chords, no scales, no intervals, no theory, no exercises, no speed builders...It was just me, Gabby, my amp, and music. It was pure, unfiltered, unadulterated, unscencored JAMMING, and it was FUN. If I made a mistake, I didn't whip myself mercilessly over it like I usually would, because in that moment, it didn't matter. There was nothing else on Earth but my hands and the sounds they created. It's cliche (and so are those last three syllables), but I didn't think of anything; the notes simply poured from me. I felt free, in ways I can't even hope to explain, but I'm sure you all have known the feeling.
I played so late, I forgot there was such a thing as time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persistence_of_Time), and last night became dawn. At six o' clock AM I finally unplugged "for the night" and landed face down on my air mattress. There were noises waking up while I tried to shut my mind down: the ceiling fan and the light hanging from it kept making a soft, far away shwish-shwacking sound directly above me, and every few seconds I could swear I heard a dog munching down on some crunchie bits maade from left over race horsies. It was all in my head, probably the result of having my head wrapped tight in a pair of ear phones for seven hours straight with not so much as a bathroom break, and no sleep.
So a few hours later, unable to silence myself, I finally gave in to the Sandman's "sick" day, and tried to get my head around something I couldn't even bring to mind. Tried the guitar again but, although inspired, I was simply too tired. (Still am!) Then I remembered that I didn't finish my mini burgers from Denny's last night because I was so ecstatic and wanted only to create...and I just remembered those mini burgers are still in the fridge. Mmm, grilled onions...
\m/
P.S. -- I know (and agree) that WH is supremely ultimate and ultimately supreme. There isn't one where I live, so no shit about Denny's, please.

nice arsenal you have there freddy. i used to have a valvetronix. good amps. Yeah man for sure, they get LOUD... and really thats all I need right now... I can throw it through my other amp and use the vox as an amp head and call it a day. I got the ad50 when it first came out at GC. since I worked there and they were always sold out I snatched one real damn quick. and now they have bigger and different ones... damnit hahahaha

hahaha I know, they make quality jam amps and stage amps.
My buddy that I used to work with talked me into it, and I actually got to see him use the same amp at a show and it was just LOUD

yeah when i was using it in the chapel band for the bible college i'm fixin to graduate from next week, there were a few chapel services when i didn't even plug it into the system and my friends out on the floor told me they could hear me...impressive for anything under a stack or even a 2x12, much less a little 15W. Well, my Spider 2 i had for a few months was loud too, but just didn't have as many options.

Agreed. and congrats on the graduating btw.
but yeah I find that obviously with a lot of amps you just blast real loud they lose their natural tone and character.
But I find this amp stays the same.
and yeah the options are ridiculous.
I was at work throwing boxes, and I sorted this 100w version 2x12.
it had even MORE stuff, I got mad.
hahahaha because when I bought the 50w that was the biggest they had at the time.
