By line 6 stuff i mean their amps and such, the pod stuff is ok for the cash. Im just wondering, I played through one this weekend, and it sounded tooooooo digital to me. Its like its not real sounding. And im left wondering why so many bands endorse their stuff, and why line 6 is one of the best selling amp brand. Megadeth, Dethklok, list goes on... Is it only about money they get for endorsing?

IMO......... If line 6 got rid of its modeling bs and actually put a decenct preamp in their amps... I would own another in a heartbeat.
They have plenty of power, but the effects totaly suck.

They seem to pack some big power indeed. I didn't have a chance to crank one.

Consensus around the heavy hitting audio/mix engineers seems to be pods are worthless in the studio for any kind of serious guitar recording. I agree. They are cool for quick and easy demos, odd overdubs, and other stuff... but nothing beats a real amp pushing speaker into a mic.
My 2 cents... pods - cool concept.... good sound .... not great
Useable yes, preferrable... no
I try not to pay attention to who endorses what, more so, what sounds good on a record. THere are many great amps that can be found at good prices.

LINE 6 IS BLASPHEMY!!!!! DON'T TOUCH THEM!!!!! Solid state stuff is never my choice, but unless you just want an amp that easily dials in a completely just okay sounding tone and that's it don't buy it. If you want solid state there are millions better amps, and as far as line 6's tube stuff combining that much effects and stuff with pure tubes is also pure blasphemy and the effects aren't even decent enough to be usable in my opinion. If you want tons of effects get a rack unit. If you want really good distortion get a tube amp. The only time when I understand getting solid state is when you want a seriously hard hitting grindcore crazy heavy amp. In that case the solid state transformers are superior to tube rectifiers.

IMO......... If line 6 got rid of its modeling bs and actually put a decenct preamp in their amps... I would own another in a heartbeat. They have plenty of power, but the effects totaly suck. indeed. one perfect example is the Vox Valvetronix line (if i remember correctly, freddy can attest to this as well) - i had the 15w Valvetronix amp...AMAZING! The tone rocked, effects were decent, only downside IMO being that you could only use 1 effect at a time. still, though, for 180 bucks it was a very good amp, and i'm considering buying the 30w model to hold me over until i can afford a dos all tube halfstack or 2x12 combo. after i got rid of this amp to buy a toneworks pandora (aka biggest waste of money in my life next to buying beginner "play like metallica" lesson books when i started playing), i then got rid of THAT and bought a spider 2 because GC was trying to clear out their remaining inventory of it to make way for the spider 3 - it was a 1x12 amp for $200, can you blame me?. it was okay...meaning that it had decent (and i used that word very loosely) distortion on the green metal setting. the only thing i liked about it was that it was obnoxiously loud and forced everyone in the dorms to hear my metal pwnage when i played. i bought a pod, liked it and after hearing it for so long i used my spider and realized it sucked, so i ebayed it to some dude in cinncinatti. i considering at vox valvetronix, like i said earlier, all because they have the tube preamp. i'm either going to do that or buy one of them little peavy transtube amps and go to my mom's and try to dig up my old DS-1 stompbox. i love my pod, it's great for the extent of playing i do which is recording shizzles on my laptop or playing at church (cuz i can plug straight into the system), but i need an amp - most days i'm too lazy to hook it all back up to play through it at home after i unhook it for church :S

$1100 msrp? Bogner....good stuff. I would have to play through it for at least an hour before I lost my "Line6 attitude" though. It still has modeling which MHO SUCKS!
Its probably going to be worth 800 without the effects, so Ill STFU now.

well emp told me that mike played one and it's basically a cheap version of one of bogner's amps with [crappy] effects built in, so i'm not as psyched about it any more.
now, if the vetta series had tube, i'd be a little more excited
