I have got this old, really beat up classical guitar.
The sticker inside says:
Custom Built Classic Guitar Harmony Company Chicago Ill. No. 173 (<-----stamped on)
I've heard a bit about the harmony company, and it seems that they've been around for a while. Anyone know when it could have been made? Does the 173 mean that it's the 173rd one made?

Ive seen Harmonies from the 50s but thats all I can attest to. 173 is most likely the 173rd made of that model. Harmony is better known for lower quality instruments btu I have seen some really nice ones.

Thanks dude, that helps actually. If it was made in the 1800's and considered rare and valuable, then I'd be pissed cause it's in such bad shape now ;D Worst thing is, one of the braces is loose inside, so if you play a loud part, it buzzes like hell. Plays nice though. sounds good when it's not doing the sitar act. I got this one from a crazy old Gypsy-Jazz cat. He fixed one of my acoustics for me (my first axe had a mishap that separated the back and front and split one of the sides), and we kinda hung out when we met around town. He gave a couple of classical/flamenco guitars to me a few months before he passed, one of which was the Harmony. Logansc: I heard the name, but I can't remember what I was reading about 'em. Try posting some model info too, like if it has a sticker/serial number etc.
