Honestly.
Joel.
and
Jason Becker.
Especially Joel because over the years of being friends and working with him, I have come to respect not only his prodigal skill. but I have come to respect him as a best friend and someone like an older brother.
and Jason Becker, because he proves "Mind Over Matter"
without these two, I wouldn't be playing guitar.

Jason Becker.
Marty Friedman (not so much of his Cacophony stuff, but his solo albums. He just plays wonderful guitars there)
Those are probrably the only guitar heros i'm inspired by. The rest are band guitarists, like Laiho, Andre (Blind Guardian), and some obscure doom metal, gothic metal, melodic dark power metal bands. I'd rather create textures and moods with my music than just do shred.
I ain't really a guitar freak, more of a music freak i guess.

Jason Becker, Shawn Lane and Guðmundur Pétursson (my guitar teacher(TOP player in all aspects)). The story goes: Sometime (probably when he was with Whitesnake) Steve Vai saw my teacher playing live in a blues band. Vai's suppost to have commented later on that "That guy's one of the top guitar players, he should be alot more famous, if not world famous". Well it sounds VERY silly translated directly into english but the main point is Vai recognized him as a player at simular level as himself. But Guðmundur the real deal, solid bluesman and I don't think he want's anything to do with fame. Plus, if he was always touring he wouldn't have much time to teach me His knowledge around the fretboard is just fucking amazing.. I've never met a better jazz player(Plus .. he can shred alot faster than me :/), the shit he does with a 6-string is amazing and I intend to rip it all off

Me?? Everything inspires me. I am strange... sounds - water running, clocks, wind, birds.... visual - blinking lights, falling leaves....
As far as guitar gods go... I respect all their music, there are things that can be appreciated from em all.... to hard to choose. Even those that are not considered guitar gods inspire me. So mark me up fer anything but Steve Vai.... Hahahaha had to put that in there!
