On a challenge, Im making a death/thrash version of some lame ass rap song redone by Travis Barker. His version is badass. Im just gonna add some DEATH style rythme and a shred lead to it. I just got Audition *cough* Adobe shit........to work and kifed the stream. I still have to learn the timing, but I pretty much have it planned out what I want to do with it. Just tryin to decide where to slap the shred in.

shred should be slapped all over the place!
I just added some solos to a friends bands new album, and one song i put a lead in of shred for 23 seconds!
point im trying to make.... you dont even need backing music for a cover.. just completly delete the intro and shred away!

On my Squaco page there is now a cover of a Britney Spears tune, "Toxic."
I think it's pretty metal.

Is the song you're talking about "Soulja Boy"?

Ya... it was Soulja boy. Sorry for the delay Pat..... I worked on it a whole 20 minutes and thought to myself "wtf are you doing"? So thats where Im at. Not doin a damn thing with it hahaha. It would be more gratifying to do an ABBA cover than to spend another 10 seconds of my life listening to rap.

Thanks Pat! Yes... the strange Swedish people that wrote the hooks for that song did a very good job. It's very catchy. I agree about the autotuned "sing under my breath so I sound sexy" vocals. They suck, but the song itself is awesome in a crappy pop song sort of way.
Autotuned vocals in general suck. I've gotten so used to hearing them that I can pick them out of most music that uses pitch correction now. That's why I found myself a damn singer who can sing. hahaha
Also, there's already a hardcore cover of that Soulja Boy song, and it's every bit as bad as the original. I don't think metal needs to touch that piece of crap with a ten foot pole.

Hehe you guys know the real story about these sexy vocals? The thing is, when she was around 16-18 she had a really good pleasant voice, and we could call her a star because she really had talent. But after a couple of her cds, due to something (smokes maybe?) she lost half or so of her vocal range, and she just couldnt sing the old stuff anymore . And wtf is going on with the bitch now is beyond me.
