got another one up...has some stuff i wanted to mess with. it's the end result of 3 days (and maybe more) of nothing but becoming the archetype, aletheian, and 80's metal. just remember that i have a soundclick page, so i'll spare you guys the trip to myspace soundclick.com/share?songid=6048286Emp already listened to it and said he thinks it's dos for the most part. Have a few screw ups in it, but you guys and some chick that i'm hitting on at work are probably the only people who will hear it so yeah check it out please!

OOohh the beginning sounds demonic It's very cool shit .. I just can't help to wonder how cool it would sound with double-bass drums in he tapping part A few fuck-ups in the arpeggios but I can't blame ya, those sweeping arpeggios are just too hard to get right.. I've been practising for months now on and off and that progress is slooooooooow Thumbs up ;D

thanks a lot guys. i'm planning on buying a MIDI keyboard sometime in the next couple months so that i can add drums and strings and stuff in...i don't have the attention span to do that stuff with guitarpro or whatever.
but yeah anyway, the intro was just there for the sake of an intro...that and i just wanted an excuse to use a minor 3rd harmony to get out of the perfect 5th box.

Btw Sindri keep hammering at the sweeps man. Even if you can't imagine yourself playing them ultra fast, continue to play them as clean as possible on low speed, and sometimes just try to add speed (you can do that without metronome). Then after some months you will suddenly realize that you can play them sweeps fast and clean. Its like: "the ketchup effect", that is when you turn the bottle with ketchup over and squeeze it, nothing will come out of it. You try to squeeze it more and more and nothing comes out of it, but suddenly, a huge gush of ketchup will cover your french fries. Every long-term guitar task I have put before me ended with a ketchup effect

yeah...i practice sweep picking on my acoustic (which is in E with 12s ). I've always figured that if i could sweep clean on it i could do it on any guitar i'd pick up.

I have had some problems when I was trying to do some technical shit (that i paly on electric no prob) on acoustic. I haven't figured out what was wrong but after 10 minutes my fretting wrist started to hurt, and it didn't leave me for 2 days. The other time (since acoustic is my only guitar tuned to E) I did some theory and ear training with it, on the 2 lowest strings in particular, and I got the same pain. So I figured out that I'd better put it into the gig bag before I totally fuck my wrist up. Instead, when I practice a new composite lick, I do it in the living room on my old elecric with 11s, unplugged, and play it so that I can hear every note clearly. That works ok for me

Yeah I know about the ketchup-effect (love the name btw. ;D).. I practised picking like 8 hours a day for a whole summer and still sucked.. Then one day round june/august BAM! I just got it down and nailed it on a few days and surpassed my mind in speed (I just can't count when I'm at full speed). Now I'm working and waiting for it to happen to the sweeping too.. Btw. I got a new song idea I recorded earlier today (on friggin' SoundRecorder ).. It's nothing fancy just basic riffage/chord-structure for some song.. (no fancy sweeps or picking .. but I'll do some later..) I'll try to have it up somewhere tomorrow since it's in my brother's (who is now sleeping) laptop.
