Disco is fukkin' great. I mean real disco... the stuff wich was in the 70's. Bunch of dudes were smoking pot at the parking lot and came up with awesome tunes. And when they weren't doing that, they were in the disco clubs, doing ridiculous amounts of blow and fucked themselves silly because of all the hot pussy around. Off course there were poppers sniffing fags around too but still... good times!
Seriously, disco is fucking ridiculously complex. It's a fucking bitch to arrange. You've got R'n'B drum beat, funk bassline, funky guitar. Many latin/caribbean percussions. Then bunch of pianos, keyboards, organs etc. Then the jazz horns section. Then orchestra (mostly violins). And bazillion vocal tracks. jeeezzz... Although I like classic funk more, disco is a real challenge. But the best disco bands started as a funk bands... and many disco groups have some of the best bass players ever (all funk players).

I saw the cocert-flyer last week and thought to myself: "GODDAMN am I showing up on that gig" Not a chance in hell I'll miss the only powermetal show in Iceland. Do you know if he's in Acts of Oath or Nightriders?

Of course I was Badass powermetal though the sound-guy fucked up their sound. Nightriders were pretty good and the guitar-dude's shred looked good, too bad one couldn't hear shit of the solos Acts of Oath were ok, the guitars were not all that good and the singer has an AWESOME-O voice but the melodies were not that catchy. On the other hand "Fenjar" SUCKED!

They were playing this evening in Hitt húsið, along with 3 other bands. They played 2 of their own songs, a LOTR cover, and Sixxpounder cover. That was \m/
