... How I judge music, why I e.g. like melodic death metal more than pure death.
Some time ago we learned in anatomy that some areas of the brain could be interwired by neurons, that is, for example, someone's color perception area could be wired to a pitch recognition area, and that person would likely see a color when he hears a specific pitch, say when he hears A he will think of it as a green note.
Unfortunately, I dont have this version of weirdness, cause that would help a lot in recognizing pitches. My weirdness seems, that whenever I hear a specific instrument, or an ensemble, I see it in a color, e.g. dist guitar could be green, brown or black, if we add a decent amount of reverb or delay to it, it becomes light blue. Most of the orchestra stuff sounds blue to me, like string section is dark blue, and harp is light blue. Solo violin is kinda marine. Piano is white. Acoustic guitar is greenish, nylon is white. Many oriental guitars are green as well, like koto.
When I hear many instruments at the same time, I see it in color. If I listen to a song, the whole song could be associated with a color.
E.g.:
Nightwish - Beauty of the Beast is green and a bit yellow
Children of Bodom - The Nail is blue
Evergrey - Ambassador (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6GLY8YpZZVI)
is yellow and blue, especially at 00:15 and 02:00.
I understood this morning, that every song on my playlist has some color to it. And when I listened to the new bodom cd today, I understood that it had 0% color, and I dont dig it at all. I seem to judge music by its colorness.
Just some weird rant.
