Yo guys, I'm thinking about picking up one of these. I need a more "rock" looking live axe and my busted up Ibanez RG 421 is cutting it anymore. The neck is warped and I've got all kinds of neck issues. Anyone every played this guitar or know anyone who has? Would you/they recommend it?? Mahogany/Rosewood FRETS: 22 Jumbo INLAYS: Split-Crown PICKUPS: Duncan Designed HB-102 ELECTRONICS: Vol/Vol/Tone (tap)/3-Way BRIDGE: TonePros System BINDING: Multi-Ply TUNERS: Grover HARDWARE: Gold COLOR: Gloss Black (BLK)

I hate that shape with a burning passion. Get a V instead. Oh, wait, you have one!

You probably know this already, but Schechters are regarded as very high quality instruments, for a bit lower price. But beware, Schechter's necks are thicker than usual. A LOT thicker than that RG you have. Some more GAS for ya:

I played a Hellraiser V the other day. I actually found that I liked the neck. It felt like I was playing a guitar, instead of a piece of paper.

Well I got a hell of a deal on the tempest custom... so I bought it. I played it and I liked it. I'll have mine in a few weeks. Maybe I'll post something with it.

Emp almost talked me into getting a Damien that I found a while back. Kinda wish I had gotten it. I was originaly looking for 1 for Pat but he had found his new axe right before that. I may just take another look at 1.

Joel, just get a custom guitar built !!!!! it will be so much more relliable, better tone/resonance, etc
I mean, how in hell could you want to play "national " with a stock or average guitars?
But congrats if that Tempest was "the one" you were lookin' for

Well..... It is really a question of budget for me right now. I don't have the cash available for a really ridiculous custom guitar. I got a new tempest custom so cheap that I couldn't pass. I also find that my guitars get the piss beat out of them on the road so.... having a guitar that can take a beating without me having to worry is priceless

Yeah, the one thing you can definitely say for Sphincters is that they can take a lickin' and keep on kickin'.

Yall know Im seriously fond of late 80s Yamahas. Ive dropped "bitch" in the middle of a set due to a shit strap and not using locks.... picked it up and just had to tune the high E a 1/2 step sharp. Fukkin bulletproof.
I myself wouldnt ever put more faith in any axe that wasnt a neckthru. 4 screws will never be as strong as fiber.

But what if the neck gets fucked up, like warped, or if you drop your axe and the neck breaks? If its NT its fatal.

Yeah, I'd take a bolt-on for a custom axe. Unless I get too attached to my embarrassing NT axe that's on the way...
