Yay, my first thread ;D
okay, the background:
I have recently come into an '89 Rhodes, which plays great. However, it needs new pickups.
Right now it as a Jackson stock pickup in the neck and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge (which wouldn't be bad, except for the fact that it isn't a trembucker) .
The local guitar tech (well, the only local one worth mentioning) recommended Seymour Duncan SH-10's for both positions.
While I've taken his advice before and it turned out well, I'd like some input from somebody who isn't trying to sell me anything.

Never tried the Sh-10... JB is fairly bright as far as I'm concerned. a '59 on neck seems classic (mostly matched with JB) Tonezone has a cool 80's vibe. the custom5 is nice also, but on neck forget it for clean.
I didnt like any dimarzio i,ve played, but it was the D-activator (too sterile, worst than EMGs IMO) and the blades (too loose and lack of output)
You can check out some other compagny, Bareknuckle, WCR, Stan Hinesly, Lundgren etc.
But first, whats you AMP? STYLE? favorite tones?
Edit: RR's for the win ! \m/

as of right now, I'm playing through a Vox AD30VT (30 watt Valvetronix).
Style and tone are kinda fluid, since my tastes are pretty varied (and the people around me are at opposite ends of the guitar spectrum),
but when I just play by myself it sounds somewhere between thrash and power metal.

You can check out some other compagny, Bareknuckle, WCR, Stan Hinesly, Lundgren etc. Unfortunately, Bareknuckles are out (I'm on a fixed income of... nothing), but the others look pretty interesting. I'm looking for something to compensate for the muddy-ness of the guitar (not sure if its the age of the guitar, or what, but the fact that the JB's pole spacing is off doesn't help at all)

Well, not to be spamming my own topic, but after looking around some, I've decided that I'd love to get Bare Knuckle(s?) War Pigs (or something compatible for the neck position.
However, since I don't have nearly enough money for those, I looked around for something close-ish. I stumbled over Rock Monkey Guitars (http://www.rockmonkeyguitars.com/humbuckers.htm), and I rather liked what I saw. I'm thinking a Neobucker of some sort (The Beef Bucker may be too hot for my amp, I don't know). I was wondering if anybody's had any experience with these pickups, opinions, etc.
Otherwise, I'm thinking about the DiMarzio Super 3 for the bridge.
