I own a Epiphone Les Paul Standard and I was thinking of replacing the stock bridge pick-up with a Seymor Duncan Screaming Demon. I've been to Sam Ash and GuitarCenter but the people working there have no knowledge. I am trying to get a better George Lynch tone on my leads and since they are his Pickups, I figured that would be a good direction. I've been wondering if this would be a bad choice for a pickup? I see alot of people that have used demons generally use them in ESP's or Fender but not in Les Pauls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love th SH12.....others on this board do not. *shrug The Epi version of the Les Paul typically uses less dense wood than their more expensive counterparts. The bad thing there is the SH12 adds more midrange and could add unwanted higher freq tones than you may like. Either way, its going to sound better in your body than say a basswood body. The only way to tell if you'll like it is to try it out I'm afraid. My definition of good tone could be different than yours.
You can find SH12s on Egay for around 60 bux. Another good place to look is your local chapter of Craigslist. Wouldnt hurt to try.

Strats don't have the same woods/resonance/scale than LP, so having the same pups won.t necessarly get you there. I'd say try it out.
Edit: I remember somebody here who had custom5's on his guitar and If my memory serves me right, his tone was good ;D
or get your ass on the bareknuckle pickup forum ;p
