Joel gave me permission awhile back to do Classical lessons for IG (Sorry Joel!). My upcoming business venture and marriage kinda sapped my time...
My question is this... what do you guys want to see? I can work on a masterclass for reading (since most classical music is in standard) or just go about the techniques with tab. Let me know what you guys want to see!

oooo I'd say it would be of more use to look at the theory behind classical music.. possibly with some tabs on fingerpicking technique thrown in for good measure!

But seriously, a lot of people -- most rock/metal players and shredders, I'd say -- are more interested in the sounds they can create than the shapes on a piece of sheetmusic.
Personally, I love reading standard notes, but I'd rather learn something the easiest way possible, commit it to memory, and just play it, free to express, instead of relying on performance notes.
Theory would be ultracool. Classical-style chord shapes that the average metal head has never seen in their life. Proper left and right hand technique specific to classical music. Strumming methods for fast arpeggios (upstroke with finger, downstroke with thumb).
I think a few classical repertoire standards would be KILLER, pieces essential to the style.
The one thing I've always thought would be brilliant, but nobody's done (that I'm aware of) is real classical pieces presented in tab form. I can't count the number of times I've tried to teach somebody a piece of music, either in person or online, and they just get frustrated and give up on classical music because they simply couldn't care less about shaped notes.
That's my thoughts anyway. Looking forward to whatever you have in store for us here. And, by the way, WELCOME! \m/

I agree that seeing all of it would be great.
The other thing is that I don't know how to use more than two fingers for playing scale runs (I often noodle around and improvise on my classical, but I'm a bit limited in technique).

btw jazz3, there's some tabs of classical stuff (bach, bethoven, vivaldi, villa-lobos, mozart, bartok) out there, mostly in guitar pro or powerdos format. but i do agree that its impossible to get in stores on paper

it's the only format anybody will ever need. it's utilized by that tab software designed by Chuck Norris and Paul Gilbert - this is software that not only writes and plays tabs back to you - it actually plays your guitar for you

ROFL I fukken wrote powerdos instaed of powertab.... blame kanadians and alcohol ;p If you subconsciously write "powerdos" in place of any other words that start with the letter "p", you might be an IG addict. wait a sec, you're not only an addict, you're staff! that's even worse...i think

even the fact that you say dos or powerdos shows that you've spent some excessive amount of time on the board
