ENGL preamp! I just got the e530 preamp from ENGL.....sounds fucking great and is really versatile. Unfortunately I cant afford a nice power amp (using a solid state power amp), so this thing is going to be my touring work horse. I hope it holds up for a few years. But, I love this thing...cant wait to play a show with it.

man. i was gonna go for the 530 before i got the head i have now but it was too much trouble trying to find a tube power amp for a price i could afford. for how common peavey 60/60s are, they sure are hard to find around here.

What amp do you have? I have to run it through a solid state power amp unfortunately...but it will have to do for now, I cant afford anything else. I had the option to go with Peavey or Madison amps as well. They were offering endorsements to us but I decided to go ENGL and not take any endorsements. Im going to work on an ENGL endorsement though

I use a Bugera 6262 120w head. I went with it because it was $550 brand new and it's basically a clone of the original peavey 5150, which our other guitarist uses (only it has a better clean channel). I'd still like to go all rackmount just because it looks dos, but i've got a rack full of effects and a sonic maximizer as well so the things in the tone department are far from lacking.
jake was looking at some possible endorsement deals for us as well and looked at madison, the only problem he had with it was that the deal required us to stay with them for 3 years, and he has severe GAS...he's had the 5150 for almost a year now and that surprises us lol

I was talking to Madison for a while. Ive never played one though and asked if they could send one or knew someone in my area that had one I could try out. And then they wouldn't respond to me. So I said fuck em. Ive heard some bad things about those amps as well....not sure if the stories were true though.
I was looking into a 6505 for a while. I could have gotten a new one for around $700...but i didnt like that it only had 2 channels. I have to have a clean, rhythm, and some kind of lead boost. But I never really thought Id be using a rackmount set up.
Randall just put up a myspace blog about endorsements...they are looking for new and upcoming artists I guess.... 25-50% discounts on their stuff. Might be cool to check out. Their removable modules thing is really cool
