Took this from another site
PRS is building an EXTREMELY limited run of guitars made of the rarest woods and materials available.
There will only be [18] total in the US (and 10 others for the rest of the world). Total number of guitars in the run - 28 (thus, the name "Paul's 28").

NOTES:
Extremely Limited Edition PRS made from the rarest wood and materials. Paul Smith himself not only closely supervised the production of each of these 28 guitars, but he personally worked on each of them as well.
In Paul's own words:
• Top - "one of the curliest tops we have ever seen in our history (from a tree I obtained by trading a Dragon I)
• Back - "a rare ribbon-striped mahogany back that was hand-selected from an entire warehouse of wood
• Neck - "so rare it can't even be called rare Pernumbuca neck (nobody's even seen one before)
• Fretboard - Exotic Black Rosewood
• Headstock Veneer - Dark Mexican Rosewood
• Fretboard Inlays - "solid-shell Rippled Green Abalone, Paua Heart, and Mammoth Ivory Celtic Cross inlays"
• Pickups - "PRS proprietary 1957/2008 pickups made from our rare magnet and wire supplies"
• Unique "Burnt Gold" finish "I have been working on the stain method for the last two years"
• Paper Thin Nitrocellulose finish
"I personally supervised the work and personally worked on this instrument throughout its creation. I picked out all the woods, re-carved the body to original shop specs, carved the neck by hand, stained it, helped finish it, helped sand it, sped'd out all of the pickups, and played and adjusted it until it was "right"
