Nice. IF they out-pass 'tallica, I just wish they incorporated more SOLOS in their song, it could be kickass.
but again, their music is aimed at teenage angsty kids...

but again, their music is aimed at emos... QFT That's some funny stuff. The whole band is so full of themselves. How can you get bigger than Metallica targeting a demographic that outgrows you? Everybody knows who they are...they've been mainstream for years. If people liked them, they'd have that status right now. They're not going to win over the people that already know them and don't like them. I don't know if you can get that big anymore, in any case, simply because of the way things are run these days. I'm not really into Metallica, but what the Black album did was beyond epic, in terms of songs, their career leading up to it, marketing, timing, social/cultural climate, etc, etc, etc. It was a "perfect storm".

Yeah, I think the days of bands reaching that status are over. I think it will continue to get harder to make a living playing music until something in the industry changes. Most bands now get paid horribly and they tour until they just realize that you cant make a living doing it. Then they stop. Even if a band is making great albums they just cant reach that huge status.

And we will continue to try for the sake of not being able to do anything else productive with our time.

very true. what is life without music? Just hope the industry figures out what it needs to do.
