Well we do write our songs in the same key (different scales though) so that our songs will have similar sound, like, for concept stuff and shit ehm. I dont consider it such a bad thing though... Kinda hard to explain oh well it's okay for concept stuff, since the whole point of concept songwriting is to have the ENTIRE project be very similar. but writing stuff using the same scale and such for EVERYTHING IN YOUR ENTIRE CATALOG, CONCEPT OR NOT is made of fail, and Torkin, buddy, you are definitely not made of fail thx, but i never said the same scale only the same key I tbh never think of scales in the first place, i just do something until it sounds good and then check scale

Yeah I decided to use the lick for a youtube collab because its flashy and sounded badass over the backing track.. And for the other discussion.. I know I for one used to have a bad habit of wanting to write everything in C minor just because I could go chug chug and gallop on the E/A strings (C/F for me) all day long, though I got out of that awhile ago.

Switch keys in song, it sounds far cooler than staying in the same key. (same goes with scales).
