Nah, I'm pretty sure my San Dimas is a Ft. Worth or something like that. Licensed Floyd, not original, and it's got this weird little thing with the neck where it's tilted to the side slightly, just enough that I am quite capable of pulling the high E string off the fretboard if I PO too hard. Doesn't help that I went down from 10s to 9s, either… got pics? MOSHON DAVE

I had the chance to buy 1 brand new back in 90 or 91 off the rack for 450 out the door. I AM the most retarded person on earth for not doing so.
The all tung oil one. I still get wood over that axe.

I'm thinking about picking up an Engle powerball (or fireball) or a Framus cobra 4 the studio. Anyone played the powerball and the fireball back 2 back yet?

Well, there's supposed to be a new version of the fireball, which is supposed to sound killer, but never played it.
Otherwise the first one I didn't really care for it. The powerball was much better, but beware it's insanely compressed and got a strong HONK in the mids, you either love it or hate it. I'm not sure if I actually prefered the ENGL savage 120 (but it's noizy like a shower...)
Framus Cobras sounds dirty as hell, but I never gotten near one, so I can only speak from clips I've heard.
Joel, check out Fortin amps on youtube, the Bones might interest you as well. (or the 6 channel meathead ! lol )

haven't played the Fireball,, but Steff is pretty much right on with the Fizzball,,,um Powerball As far as the Savage goes it will stomp all over a powerball,,and a tube swap from the stock Engl tubes(I put Tung-sols in mine) and Bias adjustment should help alleviate the shower syndrome. Have you had the opportunity to scope out an Axe-fx? I'll tell you,, It made me re-think alot of my opinions about tone,,and not just the high gain stuff either. MOSHON DAVE

I had a band bring in a powerball and a cobra. The guitars turned out sick. I fell in love with both. I know what you mean about the mids in the engl. I had to cut the living hell outta them. But once I got her dialed, she was killer.
I used to be a lot pickier about amps & tone. As I've recorded about 1000000000 metal bands I find that you can get a decent sound out of about anything as long as you tweak the hell out of it. There are so many cool amps out there with killer tone. Sometimes its hard to know what you want.

Don't scooop your mids to zero !! ;D just teasing you, if it sounds right, it's right IMO. but yeah... the EQ is always adjustable (either the amp's EQ, or a parametric EQ in the loop, or post-prod) but it's all in the grain of the overdrive IMO.

They are clock faces... you can see the hands pointing to different positions in the photo.
