I have the aforementioned programs. Wondering if anyone has used them. I need something to control it. I am not a drummer, so I won't be using any kind of e-drum. A buddy of mine says I can make a midi drum file to use with Superior but he won't go into details as to how I can do that and what program is best to use. Any ideas?

I've never used it but it looks a hell of alot better than any plugins I've used. Also beats having to bribe your lazy ass drummer with a 12 pack just to show up to rehersal. For 300 bones.....ya cant go wrong. I'll be getting it for sure. I used to use a BOSS DR550 for rehersing, but this looks way easier.

Sup? I have it. I'm still kinda new with it too, but have been using EZdrummer for awhile. Lately I have been just tweaking the Midi's that came with it within whatever app I happen to be using to record(Cubase Sonar, etc) different stuff. I have also sent my Boss Dr550 via midi into it to trigger it too. What app are you recording with? If you are wanting to write your own midi drum parts, you can do that in the editor window in your recording app(I find tedious and difficult) or write them with another drum machine program(like one of these perhaps,,, www.mymusictools.com/download/drum-machines/ that will spit out a midi file and import that into your Daw app to trigger MF. I havent messed with it , but you can use guitar pro to write your drums If your more familiar with that to export midi files to trigger it. Hit me up with your specifics if you want and I'll try to hook you up MOSHON DAVE

i must be weird...i personally LIKE manually mapping out the drum parts in the DAW editor window I actually have an electronic kit that would work beautifully for it since i have a USB to MIDI cable, but i don't have a double kick pedal

The only thing that blows is getting the latency down far enough for like jamming. I think I need a better computer. My soundcard is good enough "RME HDSP 9652" but I have to get a faster computer to record on. it is still an AMD 3200@2.2 Gh with 3 Gb. ram. for strait up recording its fine, but running in MIDI and then into the my rec. app.( sonar, cubase, etc,) then S2.0 as a plugin then back to the soundcard it has a little latency that is audible. Usually, if I use the Kit, I'll just record and monitor the audio from the E-drum brain then after its done bring up S2.0 Kinda the same using the Dr550 too. MOSHON DAVE

I run Cubase 5
Superior has midi drums files already? lol where the fuck are they?
I am using Finale to make a drum part. I drop it to midi then feed it into Cubase/Superior
It would be nice if I had some premade shit I could just tweak. I am not a drummer so I suck at writing drums.

Sup? Yeah, there should be a bunch of Midi's with it. If you cant find them hit me with your addy and I'll hook you up There was a guy asking about what the Uber sim sounded like in my AXE-fx so I whipped this up real fast earlier tonight to post back for him. Its a little raw and loose, It was done in Cubase 5, and the drums were done quickly in S2.0 M.F.,I had edited( ::)loosely ) some of the M.F. MIDI files to my needs,,,no "REAL" mixing, and didn't do any post, just a little comp....so it is what it is  soundclick.com/share?songid=8699636MOSHON DAVE

I too thought about getting an electronic kit with the mindset that I would rather have complete control and ease w/o programming. It may happen, besides....more fun to physically play. I pretty much built another PC just to run studio only software so Dave..... I may be buggin ya a bit *tosses ya a 12 pack*

Dave.... ya have more toys than anyone should be allowed to have man. ;D
I was lookin @ the Simmons SD5 series due to the price. Knowing me Ill probably end up with an Alesis product simply because I've never seen the Alesis name on a POS anything.
The studio pc was built for less than 500 bones but will end up being over a grand with software and another harddrive....
AMD 4050e(black) dual 2.1 OCd to 2.7 8 gig DDR2 @ 800 Win 7 Ultimate 64bit w/ Gnome as backup OS. 1 140gig SATA and 1 60gig IDE slave (for project backup) 2TB SATA on the way... SB Audigy 7.1 and Yamaha ASOUND (soon to be shot w/ the .45) HD4670 1gig GPU
I'm still looking @ interfaces but will prolly go with the M-Audio Delta 1010 LT PCI unless someone beats the retard outta me.
Any other suggestions?

Ok guys...... Got my Superior Drummer installed and running. Ive only played with it for a few hours so far, but this is my take on it........
"FARKIN AWESOME"! No buffer issues. Theres a lil latency that I dont care for (who would) but overall its a seriously badass utility.
The mic/bleed tuning is wicked cool. The changes are suptle instead of blatant and hard to tune in. The 5 band EQ is super tunable even though I would like to see a full dual 1/3 octave interface in it...but I already have that, no biggie.
So far... the latency (roughly 20ms on a bad run) and the physical size of the files are the only thing I dont like. (18gig) Im sure if I was running it through cakewalk, the latency would be way more "lividity based gun firing destruction of a harddrive".
I'm gonna be getting metal foundry too. The NY files are so well recorded, it gives me wood.
Only thing to do now is master the software. ;D \m/

yea, I've got a lot to learn. I haven't even tweaked it yet. I just run the files in cubase and set it to use superior as the vst instrument.
