Hey bro, How is that guitar going ? how do you like your axe FX? keep me in touch. MOSH ON -Stef SUP? The DS7V is KICKIN brother,,although I think I wan't to try Some Bare Knuckles P'ups in it,,cause I'll tell ya, I have been an EMG guy for about the last 15 /20 years or so,and I was always looking for something that would give me the tone/ bite/control/ output that I want, and the EMG's are the closest I had got to what I wanted. Every time I would try a passive I would be let down, so I eventually I just stopped bothering and would just put an EMG in whatever I was playing. which is why the Doberman has an EMG 81-7, It sounds great, but there is just something about it I cant put my finger on,, its not "Bitey" enough, which it should be because its an 81-7 (although I've never owned one before, just 81's) and not just a 707 which I would expect to be a little rounder sounding. Which in effect has brought me to that place where lately I am starting to feel the itch again to try something different again cause there have been some newer additions and seemingly,,, advancements to the selection of Pups out there. I've also begun to question If the EMG's can "really" bring me where I'm trying to get to. For one thing,, I think over the years, I have just become to comfortable(lack of a better term) with the EMG sound, as I have been through ALOT of really great gear, and get complemented on my sound and shit, and am told I'm nuts for not liking my tone sometimes,,,, but I still have this "sameness" that I can only attribute to the EMG's that I'm kinda getting tired of as I'm still searching for this "SOUND" in my head,,,ya dig. I've known a couple people who have had bare knuckles in their axes,(miracle man, warpig, VHII) and remembering being really impressed by the character of them, but not having the opportunity to spend much time with them on my own. I have found that lately all the clips I hear on various forums I frequent,, that I really dig the sound of, seems to be recorded with BKP's,,and over half of those are with an AXE-FX,,,which brings me to your next question............... FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKK YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH ;D man,, this thing is so cool I don't even know where to start. I get some really great sounds, although I have not found "MY" perfect patch yet,,,,,, but ONLY because there are soooooo many great sounds to be had with the thing I haven't really started "building" MY tone yet for real, as I am still kinda awestruck at the sound quality and realness this thing puts out ,Ive been doing more playing around and giggling like a schoolgirl than actually playing my guitar I have gone through the factory presets and found many useful out of the box, but need to be tweaked,,which I expected, as I have NEVER got a rack pre that had that just right tone out of the box without tweaking something. I really like some of the presets I have downloaded from other users too. The fuckin clean sounds in this thing are godly,,,and I really never play clean,,, I am impressed The unit is real easy to navigate once you learn your way around,, and the thing can get as deep as you want to go also. all the little custom hotrod things you can do to a real tube amp,,,you an do in the axe too,, like matching(over and under) the transformer, bias settings, change the value of the Bright cap on the treble boost, define the presence center freq.,define the mid freq. for the tone stack,,swap tone stacks( like use a bogner tonestack on a marshall),, you can also load 10 of your own cab IRs alsoo ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D,sooooo much shit you can do its almost overwhelming.....but in a good way. I figured I am gonna just grab one amp sim and tweak the hell out of it , and then move on to the next one instead of bouncing from one to another(unless I download a cool one ) but over all hell yeah,, it is by far, singlehandedly the best piece of gear I have EVER bought,,,,Amen MOSHON DAVE

Sup? Beer, and guitar battles, and fights..oh my The way I'm playing lately you could just let your guitar feedback and you'd win that one ;D besides I'm getting older so I don't heal as well,,,and I'm a Born-Raised(but unfortunately transplanted to Alabamahell) South Side CHICAGO boy,,we don't fight,,just pull the trigger...cant risk the fingers ya know As far as the Axe-fx,,I figured I should probably stop just noodling around with it after owning it for a couple months and get back to business and start figuring up some recording tones now that I kinda know my way around the unit ( but there are so many things you can adjust it's insane) Here is a little bullshit clip I recorded with the Axe-fx. Its really nothing more than a test with the Energyball model+Metal cab. (Engl Powerball+ stock Axe-fx cab IR of an Engl with V30s captured by Jocke Skog of the band Clawfinger.) The riff is just a section of one my old tunes, the drums are just a BS midi from DFH. Guitar is direct in Cubase via SPDIF, Quad tracked panned 100/79 + 79/100 ,and didn't really do anything to it other than a little compression to the main out . www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandid=977728&content=musicI did submit my schematic for my Savage 120(and so did another guy) cause we(and a bunch of +1's ) would really like to see this model available in the Axe-fx. The Energyball is a good model,,but I never really liked the Powerball in the real world..and the Savage is just way more beastly than it. MOSHON DAVE

that is by far the best modeling I've ever heard in my life. only thing that comes close to it IMO is the GTR plug-in stuff, but still - an amp modeler with BALLS??!?!?!?!
