This is not a dick-measuring contest. We all know mine is the thickest and longest, lulz. But it is a shred guitar forum, and I thought it would be interesting for us to all post our current max speeds at various things (in sixteenths, to keep it comprehensible): picking, I can do scale runs at 160-180 Legato, I don't fucking know how fast I can go. Sixteenth scale runs beyond 240 (and yet I still can't do those fucking trills!) Sweeping, I fucking suck. Sixteenths at 120 or 140, maybe. What I'm referring to here is your top consistent speed when you're warmed up -- i.e., you can hit this almost every day after an hour or two of playing.

its hard to tell, my click machine doesnt do per second.. merely speeds up at its own pace.... ie its full speed is 99 which i guess would equate to around 260+ bpm..... i like to think i can play rock discipline faster and tighter than petrucci.. and he gets up to around 220bpm if i remember rightly... but you'll have to take my word on that!

I can move my fingers up to 300 bpm picking, but it want be very tight or precise whatsoever just running some easy scales sloppily. I can probably do up to 250 and not sound really off, and probably up to 200 and sound real tight. I can't sweep very well at all unless it's just one sweep up or down.

Snow? pfff *flex*... it's the cold that you gotta worry about. When I lived in Edmonton it was often -46 with a 20 degree windchill... sometimes colder. Shoveling snow everyday sucked in that weather. Multiple deaths attributed to the cold that year.
Snow is nice fluffy stuff thats fun to play in. We just got 2.5 to 3 feet of it in the past 24 hours here in the "south". If you go an hour west over the mountains you get double that. I did some hiking last year, and the snow is 10-20 feet deep once you get into some of the upper valleys.
Plus the viking landed here first... the US isn't cold and frostbitten enough! \m/

vikings Thus canada is metal and US pussies. Vikings also landed in Iceland and Russia, and thus I proclaim these countries (Canada, Iceland, Russia) metal and salute my fellow metalheads.

Russia would be metal if all its metal (Aria, Catharsis, etc.) wasn't utter shite.
