HAHAHA! Well, if you wanna know about my (sex) life, check the porn thread. There's a reason I know all the best starlets Anyway, my real name's John, for anyone who cares to use it. I started playing about 6 years ago. For about three years I played in cheesey little punk bands whose sole purpose was to make dick and fart jokes. Then, on a whim, I bought Megadeth's Rust In Peace. Metal and shred have dominated my guitar playing ever since! But when I got into metal and began the never-ending quest for technique, I was pretty much doing everything wrong: never warmed up, never used a metronome or drum sequencer, my fingers were all over the place, I picked extremely aggressively, etc. Basically I just moved my hands as fast as I possibly could without regard to playing actual notes, and because I've also used pretty heavy strings right from the start, I screwed up both hands pretty badly. Nerve/muscle damage. Gave it up for about a year, picked it up again about six months ago. During my time off, I learned a bunch of theory and studied up on proper warm-up and the "secrets" of speed. (A lot of that information I got right here at IG. Thanks, Joel!) I've also started getting pretty serious about classical music lately. As for my gear, I have a Yamaha that's basically an exact rip off of a Fender Strat (from a Fingerhut catalog, no less -- explains my hatred for Fender!), an ancient acoustic whose brand I can't even tell ya because it's been worn off the headstock, and a factory-new Ibanez RGT42DXFM, name of Gabby. The only amp I have right now is a little Yamaha practice amp. (I'm looking for a real amp if anybody cares to reccommend anything.) Aside from guitar stuff, I'm into writing and journalism (working on online degree), bodybuilding, and philosophy. I'd like to become a guitar teacher someday. Right now I work as an environmental specialist. Got mold or flood damage in your home, I'm the man to call! Welp, there ya go. I'm out.

I don't like Jackson guitars if that's what you're talking about. I play B.C.Riches and Epiphones 'till I can afford a Gibson.
