Now Im not so sure, that no matter what time division youre dealing with, why it wouldnt be possible for the pick and the fret-finger to land at precisely the same time. It doesnt always happen but Im pretty sure i do that at least a fair percentage of the time.

FINALLY. For fuck's sake, it took you long enough! Hypocrisy aside, welcome.

Now Im not so sure, that no matter what time division youre dealing with, why it wouldnt be possible for the pick and the fret-finger to land at precisely the same time. It doesnt always happen but Im pretty sure i do that at least a fair percentage of the time. well I sometimes sound a bit geeky (cause I have been studying physics chem and math for longer than I can remember). But IF you can do both action with a precision of up to 0,010 seconds (that is, 10 milliseconds) then you still are sloppier than if you would do it with a precision of up to 0,005 seconds (5 milliseconds). IF you can do this with a precision of up to 0,005 seconds, then you are still sloppier than if you could do this with a precision of up to 0,003 seconds (3 milliseconds). And so on. So there is NEVER anything that happens at the exact same time. Because exact same time doesnt exist, since we can split any time measure into lower measures. Its like that no matter what real number you state I will always be able to state a lower number.

Sure exact same time does. No matter how small the measure, two events which happen within that measure are still occuring at exactly that same moment.. heh...

Bleh, fuck that stuff... it's about noize from other strings and everything
Anyway, most of you guys amps are loose (not tight enought) so it will be reflected on your final tone.

Sure exact same time does. No matter how small the measure, two events which happen within that measure are still occuring at exactly that same moment.. heh... but then what you are saying is that these two events are happening within the same measure, not at the same moment. Its kinda different to define the exact moment (maybe possible with lim...). But then again there is probably a limitation on how "tight" the ear is, that is, how big (or rather small) of a difference in time human ear can perceive. Everything above that would be sloppy. Anyways Ill shut up now Welcome

Hypothesis: the pick strikes the string a very short time after the finger hits the string. After a certain point, our brain thinks of the events as simultaneous, but they're not.

I heard somewhere (I think it was in Troy Stetina's book on technique) that some people hit the strings with the pick first and then fret it with the finger.
