Imagine my surprise! Listening to "Face Of Death" right now. Pretty damn cool stuff!

\m/POWERDOS\m/
they are the band that's so good that i keep forgetting to order their CD but it's okay because EVERY song on their page is DOS. Ashes is my personal favorite - something about how well you can hear the bass on the intro riff and how well it goes with the guitars.

One thing i find , although it seems rather light, is that IG members seem to find a need to push some music on each other ,and get aggressive about it at times. I'm not much of a metla person but I tsill like some bands, I'm mostly a screamo(both mainstream and the underground), emo(old and modern), and "new" hardcore. Everyone just needs to chill hha

Haha. You got PWNED.
Trylakos, there's some strong personalities here. The thing is, we all care very passionately about music, we all like a variety of bands and genres, and we all want to share the music we think is great. Sometimes people disagree, so we just try harder to convince them and words can sometimes seem heated when they may not be (though sometimes they are).
But I do agree, which is why I stayed off this particular thread for the most part.

how was I owned? I wasn't trying to be whiny I was just saying how people seemed to get in your face about music. But it is a small community so its understandable.

Excuse me, but how exactly does the size of the community affect the behaviour of every single member? Go to harmony central forum and feel the atmosphere there. And also, this thread is about metal, and if you like emo, screamo and hardcore :X you should stay out of this thread and forum. We are arguing here about our preferences of metal with technical elements, shred. Emo, screamo, and hardcore styles are anti-technical, meaning that every group of 4-5 dudes with little or no talent can play it. The stuff we are arguing here about will require some talent of you to play, and most importantly, compose. Guys who play this kind of music dedicate their lives to it. They have been playing their instruments since they were kids, and have put endless amounts of hours into practice to master their instrument and to develop the musician inside them. Listen to some bands like necrophagist, children of bodom, martyr and see what I mean. Then listen to your stuff and feel the difference.

Listen to some bands like necrophagist, children of bodom, martyr and see what I mean. Then listen to your stuff and feel the difference. PREACH! my whole stance on it is this: if you're in a band and you get signed/start touring and have a fanbase good for you. i'll give you however much credit for that. but it's about more than just being in a band and doing shows and having groupies (even though that is a fun part of it). music is about expressing one's self, and the truth is that the more technical one's playing ability is, and the greater wealth of theory knowledge they have, that means they have that much more of an arsenal with which to express themselves. strummin power chords can only take you so far...eventually you're going to have to advance somehow and that comes with either changing your sound or adding to it. I actually listen to a lot of alternative rock - one thing that will draw my attention is if i hear various songs from various albums in the artists' catalogue and i can hear some sort of musical evolution (guitars did this different, vocals did that different, compound time being used as opposed to 4/4 or 3/4, addition of instruments never used before). a perfect example of this is Mute Math. They're not heavy by any means, but they put a lot into their music to where it's interesting and unique, not a copy of anything else (even though they may sound kind of Police/U2-ish evey now and then. besides, their drummer and bass player KILL. Listen to Chaos, Obsolete, or Reset and see what i mean). but technical music (i.e. METAL, classical, jazz) is so awesome because they don't have to constantly rework what they're doing to be awesome and constantly out-do themselves. metal is supreme because...well, it's supreme.

So... you listen to hardcore and emo? Demon Hunter is cute, but only because it's really aggressive Christian music. Other than that... sorry, you're WRONG.*flex* Calm down now. We all know the only true metal band Cookie Monster youtube.com/watch?v=tPvxQ5cSeZQ

Screaming is annoying as fuck. Seriously. I usually find myself getting really pumped to go and kick the singer's ass when they start screaming all of the time. Real men don't scream anyways, since they don't get scared or feel pain. Real men growl, and sing at the same time. The singer from Tarot is a real man.
